IAVDB – Code of Professional Conduct (Code of Practice)
1. Introduction
This Code of Professional Conduct defines the principles of professional, ethical, and quality standards expected of all members of the International Architectural Visual Designers Bureau (IAVDB).
Adherence to this Code is a mandatory condition for both membership admission and maintenance in the IAVDB Register.
2. Scope
The Code applies to all IAVDB members, regardless of membership level, and covers:

Architectural visualization activities

Professional communication

Use of the IAVDB name, title, and badge
3. Professional Competence
Members agree to:

Operate only within areas where they possess adequate competence

Maintain quality standards in line with the Bureau’s professional expectations

Continuously update their technical and design skills
Architectural visualization must reflect real understanding of space, architecture, materials, and design intent.
4. Accuracy and Integrity
Members must:

Represent projects truthfully and consistently

Avoid misleading or deceptive representations
-
Accurately declare their role in presented projects
Presenting unauthorized or work not related to one’s professional activity is prohibited.
5. Relationship with Architects, Studios, and Clients
Members agree to:

Respect the work of architects and designers
-
Maintain professional and transparent relationships
-
Safeguard the confidentiality of received information
Visual designers must interpret and enhance the design intent without replacing the architect or designer.
6. Use of the IAVDB Name and Badge
The IAVDB name, title, and badge:

May only be used by active members
-
Must be used correctly and not misleadingly
-
Must not imply legal qualifications or statutory titles
Improper or misleading use of the IAVDB brand is prohibited.
7. Professional Communication and Image
Members must:

Maintain professional and respectful communication
-
Avoid derogatory statements towards colleagues or other professionals
-
Represent the Bureau in accordance with its values
8. Conflicts of Interest
Members are required to:

Declare any relevant conflicts of interest

Avoid behavior that could compromise the Bureau’s integrity
9. Violations and Sanctions
In the event of a Code violation, IAVDB reserves the right to:

Request clarifications
-
Temporarily suspend membership
-
Revoke membership and remove the member from the Register
Bureau decisions are final.
10. Code Revision
This Code may be updated or amended by the Bureau at any time.
The current version published on the official IAVDB website shall always apply.
Acceptance
By submitting an application for membership, the applicant confirms that they have read, understood, and fully accepted this Code of Professional Conduct.
