IAVDB – Membership Rules
1. Nature of the Bureau
The International Architectural Visual Designers Bureau (IAVDB) is an independent, privately operated professional bureau that maintains an international register of architectural visual designers.
IAVDB is not a statutory professional order, not a public authority, and not an association of category.
The Bureau operates according to its own internal criteria, standards, and review processes.
2. Purpose of Membership
Membership is intended to:

Formally recognize professionals operating in architectural visual design

Distinguish architecture-focused visual designers from generic rendering providers

Provide an independent verification of professional competence and experience

Maintain a curated international register accessible to studios, practices and clients
3. Eligibility
Membership is open to professionals who can demonstrate:

Proven experience in architectural visual design

Clear understanding of architecture, space, materials and design intent

A portfolio aligned with professional architectural standards
Academic titles (architect, engineer, surveyor) are not mandatory, but architectural competence must be demonstrable.
4. Membership Levels
IAVDB recognizes the following membership levels:

Verified Designer

Certified Designer
-
Master Verified Designer
-
Director of Verified Architectural Visual Design
Each level is subject to specific qualitative criteria defined internally by the Bureau.
5. Application Process
Membership applications must include:

A completed application form

A professional portfolio

Any additional material requested during review
All applications are subject to internal evaluation by IAVDB.
The Bureau reserves the right to:

Approve or reject any application

Request additional documentation

Assign a membership level different from the one applied for
All decisions are final and non-negotiable.
6. Membership Fees
Membership is issued on an annual basis and subject to payment of the corresponding fee.

Cover administrative, verification and register maintenance activities
Failure to renew membership will result in removal from the active register.
7. Rights of Members
Approved members are entitled to:

Be listed in the official IAVDB Register

Use the corresponding professional designation

Display the IAVDB digital verification badge

Reference their membership for professional purposes
All usage must comply with Bureau guidelines.
8. Duties of Members
Members agree to:

Maintain professional conduct

Ensure accuracy of submitted information

Respect the Bureau’s Code of Practice

Avoid misleading or improper use of the IAVDB name or badge
Any breach may result in suspension or termination of membership.
9. Review, Suspension and Termination
IAVDB reserves the right to:

Review membership status at any time

Suspend or revoke membership if standards are no longer met

Remove members from the register without prior notice in cases of serious misconduct
No compensation shall be due in case of suspension or termination.
10. Independence & Liability
Membership in IAVDB:

Does not constitute professional licensing

Does not replace statutory qualifications or local regulations

Does not imply endorsement of individual projects by the Bureau
IAVDB shall not be liable for professional services provided by its members.
11. Amendments
IAVDB reserves the right to amend these Membership Rules at any time.
